Associate Vice President

Overview

Stephanie Fry is an Associate Vice President for Behavioral Health and Health Policy with more than 20 years of experience in health services research including topics such as measurement of patient experience, person and family engagement, delivery of health care services, and program evaluation from patient and provider perspectives. Fry has a broad set of skills, including significant experience designing data collection methodologies; leading qualitative data collection, including focus groups and cognitive and in-depth interviews; developing survey instruments and data collection approaches; and writing technical and analytic reports for a variety of audiences.

For more than a decade, Fry has directed AHRQ’s Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) survey team in survey design, testing, and validation work tasks. She recently led the development of a revised survey to assess patient experience with telehealth and expand understanding of health equity and patient experience by preparing a revised set of sociodemographic questions.

Fry also serves as the deputy director for the BFCC-QIO National Coordination Oversight and Review Center, ensuring the BFCC-QIO program achieves program missions to protect Medicare beneficiaries as well as the Medicare Trust Fund. As part of her BFCC-QIO work, she leads CMS patient engagement tasks and ensures that QIO innovation achieves CMS’s mission to deliver high-value care. In addition, Fry serves as a technical liaison between project leaders and 趣赢平台’s IRB. Through 2023, she was also a voting member of NQF’s Measure Applications Partnership (MAP), Clinician Workgroup, serving as a Patient Experience Subject Matter Expert.
