Michael Giangrande is a Principal Research Associate with more than 20 years of experience in project management, cartographic design, geocoding, geographic data management, and GIS programming, customization, and visualizations. He is the Geospatial Services Operations Manager and the primary point of contact for inquiries and coordination of geospatial-related work. Giangrande uses his expertise in geospatial data and technologies to evaluate data collection issues and offer solutions that involve both commercial and open-source software, supporting research on transportation, education, environmental issues, and health research . He is also skilled in using Python and the Jupyter IDE to automate GIS workflows while generating automated processing documentation. Additionally, he is experienced in obtaining, compiling, and using geographic data from the U.S. Census by incorporating their application programming interfaces into spatial data pipelines.
